Ingredients

Nachos

  • 1 box Fry’s Plant-Based Home Style Burgers
  • ½ red onion, finely chopped
  • 1 large avocado, diced
  • 2 Tbsp lime juice
  • 1 green chilli, thinly sliced

Vegan Cheese Sauce

  • 2 Tbsp coconut oil
  • 2 tsp cornflour
  • ½ cup almond milk (or other plant-based milk)
  • ½ cup coconut cream
  • 1 Tbsp nutritional yeast
  • 75 g vegan cheddar-style cheese, grated
  • Pinch ground turmeric
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

To Serve

  • 200 g corn chips
  • Lime wedges

Method

Burger & Avocado Salsa

  1. Cook Fry’s Plant-Based Home Style Burgers according to pack instructions until golden and crisp (air fryer works particularly well).
  2. Allow burgers to cool slightly, then cut into bite-sized chunks.
  3. In a bowl, mix red onion, avocado, lime juice, and sliced chilli. Season to taste and refrigerate until needed.

Vegan Cheese Sauce

  1. Melt coconut oil in a small saucepan over medium heat. Add cornflour and cook for 30 seconds, stirring constantly.
  2. Gradually whisk in almond milk and coconut cream. Simmer for 2 minutes until smooth and slightly thickened.
  3. Remove from heat and whisk in nutritional yeast, grated vegan cheese, and turmeric until melted. Return to low heat if needed and season to taste.

To Serve

  1. Arrange corn chips on a platter or individual plates.
  2. Drizzle generously with warm cheese sauce, scatter over burger pieces, and finish with spoonfuls of avocado salsa.
