Top Chow started in 2023 as Fry’s way of saying thank you. For nearly 35 years, Fry’s has been part of family tables across the country, and we wanted to properly recognise the home cooks, the moms, dads, aunties, uncles and grandparents, who have kept Fry’s in their kitchens for generations. So we launched a competition to find and celebrate them. Since then, we’ve hosted cook offs, crowned winners and published their recipes for everyone to enjoy.
This year, we’re making it even easier to be a Top Chow winner. We’ve moved the 2026 Top Chow competition online, so home cooks can enter from wherever they are and be celebrated for the dishes that have been passed down, perfected and shared around the family table for generations.
Here’s how it works: grab any Fry’s product, cook up your favourite Top Chow, your go-to vegetarian dish, the one your family asks for again and again, and share a photo or video of it on Instagram, Facebook or TikTok. Don’t forget to tag it #TopChow2026 so we can find you.
Every week, we’re giving away R5 000 to three lucky home cooks: one Top Chow winner takes home R3 000, and two runners-up each walk away with R1 000. That’s more chances, every single week, to be recognised for the love you put into your cooking.
Entries close 11 October 2026, so get cooking, get posting and get tagging.
Top Chow has always been about celebrating the cooks that feed our favourite families. The moms, the aunties, the uncles, the dads, the grandparents and everyone in between who show their love through what they put on the table every evening. This year, we simply want to make it easier for more of you to be part of it.
So what’s your Top Chow? Show us. #TopChow2026
